SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Gov. John Kitzhaber is preparing for a trade mission to Asia.
Kitzhaber leaves Sunday for a two-week trip to Japan, South Korea and China. He'll travel with business and government officials from Oregon.
The governor's office says China is Oregon's largest foreign trading partner, and Japan imports more Oregon agricultural goods than any other nation.
Kitzhaber is scheduled to meet with officials from Delta Airlines, which operates a direct flight between Portland and Tokyo, as well as leaders of companies in the solar and shipping industries. He'll also meet with executives from Oregon-based Nike and with other business and political leaders.
The governor's delegation will meet up in China with legislators who are on their own mission there.
