LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska is looking for a sharper offensive performance Saturday night when Fresno State visits Memorial Stadium.

The 10th-ranked Cornhuskers (1-0) won their opener against FCS Chattanooga by 33 points, but the game exposed flaws in the new no-huddle system.

The triple-option was clunky at times, the line failed to establish dominance over an overmatched opponent, Taylor Martinez continued throwing behind receivers and was too fast to pull the ball down and run at the first sign of trouble.

Fresno State (0-1) would appear to be a good tonic. The Bulldogs allowed 413 yards and gave up nine plays of 20 yards or longer in a loss to California.

Bulldogs coach Pat Hill says his team faces a “huge, huge test.”
