Bryant rallies past American International 27-16

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (AP) — Mike Westerhaus rallied Bryant with two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter in a 27-16 win over American International on Saturday.

Bryant erased a 16-7 deficit late in the third quarter. Westerhaus, who finished with 106 yards passing, threw an 11-yard pass to Matt Tracey and a 2-yarder to Jordan Brown in the final 4 minutes to complete the comeback. The final touchdown came with 1:34 remaining.

Bryant (1-1) has won three of the past four meetings against the Yellow Jackets.

Brown was effective rushing and receiving against American International. He ran for 140 yards and a touchdown, and caught two passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns. His 54-yard touchdown catch from Mike Croce with 11:03 remaining in the third quarter trimmed the deficit to 16-13.

Kevin Arduino had 80 yards rushing, including a 12-yard touchdown run, and 120 yards passing for the Yellow Jackets (1-1).
