HOUSTON (AP) — Christopher Barrick hit a 36-yard field goal with 4 seconds remaining Saturday night to cap a 14-point, fourth-quarter comeback and give Prarie View A&M a 37-34 victory over Texas Southern.

The Panthers (1-1, 1-0 Southwestern Athletic) had only 212 yards of total offense compared to 404 for Texas Southern (0-1, 0-1), and trailed 34-20 with 9:15 left in the game. But quarterback Jerry Lovelocke scored on a 30-yard run with 7:36 remaining, then hit Greg Thurmond with a 15-yard pass with 2:15 left to tie the score before Spivey won it.

Lovelocke led the Panthers with 67 yards rushing and completed just 5 of 18 passes for 72 yards, although two went for touchdowns. Prarie View also got an 80-yard kick return for a touchdown from Jermaine Waddy.

Martin Gilbert rushed for 97 yards and three TDs, and Marcus Wright added 143 yards rushing for Texas Southern, which was penalized 10 times for 133 yards.
