Nate weakens to tropical depression over Mexico

MIAMI (AP) — The National Hurricane Center says Nate has weakened to tropical depression with 35 mph (55 kph) winds as it moves further inland over Mexico.

The forecasters at the center in Miami say Mexico has discontinued its tropical storm warning for the coast.

The cyclone was expected to dissipate by Monday.

The center of the storm was located about 30 miles (50 kilometers) south-southwest of Tuxpan, Mexico and was moving west-northwest at 8 mph (13 kph).
