BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Dray Joseph threw three touchdown passes, accounting for all Southern University’s scoring in a 21-6 win over Alabama A&M in the Southwestern Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday night.

Joseph threw for 308 yards on 18 for 27 passing and added 16 more on nine carries for the Jaguars (1-1), who snapped a seven-game losing skid dating back to last season.

The Southern quarterback notched his three TD passes all by halftime, connecting with LaQuinton Evans from 72 yards out, Charles Hawkins on a 57-yarder and Michael Berry with a 21-yard score. Evans finished with 102 receiving yards on four catches.

Chance Wilson kicked field goals of 27 and 32 yards on the only scores for the Bulldogs (0-2), who lost despite not committing a turnover and tallying two from the Jaguars.

Deaunte Mason completed 20 of 44 passes for 280 yards for Alabama A&M.
