NEW YORK (AP) — The ceremony at the World Trade Center site marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks is ending with taps performed by members of the New York police and fire departments, the local port authority and the U.S. military.

The site’s memorial to victims opened Sunday to their relatives. It opens to the public Monday.

Family members were reading the names of victims killed on Sept. 11 and in the first terrorist attack on the trade center, a truck bomb in 1993.

Young Nicholas Gorki was remembering his father. He says he never met his dad because he was in his “mother’s belly.” He went on to tell his father he loved him and thanked him for “the gift of life.”
