EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — An Everett man just wants to shake the hand of the Good Samaritan who saved his home from burning.
The Everett Herald reports (http://bit.ly/o7Wucb) that a man jogging on Labor Day past Ken McLane’s house noticed the front porch was burning. The man then called 911 and grabbed a garden hose to keep the fire from spreading to the home. The man removed a tent, chairs and gardening tools from the porch along with toys belonging to their granddaughter.
McLane is convinced the man saved their home, which was also housing thousands of dollars of church musical instruments, from being destroyed.
The McLane’s weren’t home at the time of the fire. Firefighters didn’t jot down the man’s full name but they think his first name was Andrew.
