This Auburn team anything but boring

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn is anything but boring.

The 21st-ranked Tigers returned to the Top 25 on Sunday after their second straight narrow escape. This time a goal-line stand preserved a win over No. 25 Mississippi State after an offensive flurry saved them in the opener.

The win provided plenty for Auburn (2-0, 1-0 SEC) to like. The biggest was Mike Dyer and the running game coming to life behind a revamped offensive line.

The youthful Tigers also got a win over a ranked team that brought out the we-told-you-so vindication — at least for a week.

Voters had bounced the 2010 national champions from the rankings after they barely beat Utah State. Safety Demetruce McNeal says the Tigers wanted to “show the world that we belong in the Top 25 poll.”
