BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) — Jorge Mora’s goal from 30 yards out in the 61st minute lifted Chivas of Guadalajara to a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire in an exhibition match Wednesday night.

Mora, who entered the game at halftime, beat substitute Chicago goalkeeper Jon Conway on a free kick that curled to the right and caught the corner of the net.

Seven minutes later, Chicago’s Diego Chaves fired a 15-yard shot that caromed off the side of the Chivas net, but Chivas controlled the pace of play for the rest of the match.

Chicago, with four first-half shots on goal to Guadalajara’s one, pressed the attack in the opening 45 minutes. Chivas goalkeeper Luis Ernesto Michel’s diving left-hand save of Marco Pappa in the 37th minute kept the game scoreless.
