Ridgefield grad honored for soccer skills

Ridgefield — Corey Hanson, a 2011 Ridgefield High School graduate, was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week in women’s soccer Sept. 6. Hanson was a four-year starting varsity goalkeeper at Ridgefield and is now a freshman playing soccer for Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill. Hanson is the starting goalkeeper and made eight saves in the team’s first two matches.
