Letter: Small sacrifice is insult

I am one of the members of the Vancouver Association of Educational Support Professionals who attended the Sept. 13 Vancouver schools board meeting, and one of those members who eventually walked out.

I am insulted to hear that Superintendent Steve Webb and other administrators in the district are taking two furlough days this school year as their part in the “shared sacrifice” that we are all being asked to make. My work hours were cut by 10 hours a month which calculates to 120 hours a year or 18.46 days less pay for this school year. I guess nobody said that the sacrifices would be equitable.
