BUCHAREST, Romania (AP) — Joao Souza of Brazil upset fifth-seeded Tommy Robredo of Spain 6-4, 7-6(5) on Monday in the first round of the Nastase Tiriac Trophy.
Souza will meet Adrian Ungur of Romania or Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic in the second round.
In the day’s second match, Frederico Gil of Portugal defeated Jeremy Chardy of France 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
