Padres 1B Blanks leaves game in 1st inning

DENVER (AP) — San Diego Padres first baseman Kyle Blanks has left Tuesday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies with a mild right quadriceps strain.

Blanks reached on a fielder’s choice in the top of the first but didn’t take the field in the bottom of the inning. He was replaced by Anthony Rizzo.

The Padres said Blanks is day to day.

Blanks is hitting .230 with seven home runs and 24 RBIs in 51 games this season.
