MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Vikings safety Tyrell Johnson has been arrested on suspicion of driving while impaired.
Hennepin County jail records show Johnson was booked on a fourth-degree DWI charge at 3:17 a.m. Tuesday and released without bail about two hours later. He was arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol, which did not immediately return messages seeking more details. Johnson has a Nov. 1 court date.
The Vikings say they’re aware of the “incident involving Tyrell Johnson.” They declined further comment.
Johnson was a second-round draft pick in 2008 who lost his starting job this season to Jamarca Sanford. Johnson dropped what would’ve been a game-saving interception at the goal line in Sunday’s loss to Tampa Bay.
