Blue Jackets pare training-camp roster

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets returned seven draft picks to junior clubs and released two others from their tryout contracts.

General manager Scott Howson announced the moves Wednesday.

Returned to their junior clubs were: forwards Michael Chaput (assigned to Shawinigan, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League), Boone Jenner (Oshawa, Ontario Hockey League), Dalton Smith (Ottawa, OHL) and Lukas Sedlak (Chicoutimi, QMJHL); defensemen Brandon Archibald (Saginaw, OHL) and Austin Madaisky (Kamloops, Western Hockey League); and goaltender Mathieu Corbeil (Saint John, QMJHL).

In addition, the club released forwards Wade MacLeod and Mike Thomas from their tryout contracts. Both players have been invited to attend camp with Columbus’ American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.
