EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Kevin Williams had to sit at home and watch from his couch as the Minnesota Vikings dropped the first two games of the season. All he could do was yell at the television as the Vikings gave away big halftime leads in both games.

He’ll have a much bigger influence on the outcome this weekend.

The big defensive tackle will play for the first time on Sunday against Detroit after missing the first two games due to suspension.

Now all that remains to be seen is how effective Williams can be while playing with plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The six-time Pro Bowler is coming off a season in which he had just one sack. But he did tie a career high with nine tackles for loss.
