Letter: Return to unity after 9/11

The Columbian
Published: September 20, 2011, 5:00pm

After seeing, again, all the photos from 9/11, the same thing occurs to me, as it always does. Everyone looks the same. Covered in the dust, everyone is gray. There are no white Americans, black Americans, yellow, brown, red, or green Americans — just Americans. Superficial distinctions disappeared; people took care of people. It is proof that Americans can be united, if everyone stops worrying about their “color.” We could use some of that unity right now.
