FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Eduardo Aguirre and David Izazola scored in the final 10 minutes to help Pumas defeat FC Dallas 2-0 on Wednesday night in the fourth round of the Group C stage of the Champions League.
Carlos Orrantia assisted on both goals. Aguirre scored in the 84th minute when he took a cross from Orrantia and fired a shot into the left corner of the net from the top left corner of the goalie’s box.
Izazola scored in the 91st minute with a right-footed shot from 6 yards away and into the left corner of the net.
FC Dallas and Pumas each have Group C records of 2-1-1 and are tied for first place.
The two goals scored by Pumas were the first scores FC Dallas have allowed in group play. In the first matchup between the two teams, FC Dallas won 1-0 in Mexico on August 17.
FC Dallas goalkeeper Kevin Hartman finished with three saves to keep FC Dallas in the game.
