CATHLAMET, Wash. (AP) — With the tide high and tugboats helping out, a 584-foot cargo vessel that lost power and ran aground in the Columbia River got off the bottom and made its way downriver.

The Coast Guard said the Luminous Ace was at anchor off Astoria Friday while investigators looked into the accident. No injuries, damage or pollution were reported.

The vessel grounded Thursday evening at Puget Island near Cathlamet, Wash., after an electrical outage knocked out its steering.

Tugboats went to help. High tide was shortly after midnight. The Coast Guard says the ship regained its power, and the tugs needed only to help it break free, after which they escorted it to Astoria.
