FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — Dustin Keller has been Mark Sanchez’s favorite receiver through two games, leading the New York Jets in catches on a team that includes Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress and Derrick Mason.

Brett Favre once predicted the tight end would be a big star, and Keller might finally be on his way in his fourth season.

Keller provides significant matchup challenges for defenses because of his speed, which can’t be matched by most linebackers. The fact the Jets have Holmes and Burress on the outside and opponents double-team them helps open things up on the inside for Keller, who has 11 catches for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

He says his improved blocking skills have been a key to his success because he’s on the field in both running and passing situations.
