Central State football player fatally shot in Ohio

CINCINNATI (AP) — A Central State University football player has died after being shot at an Ohio nightclub.

Montgomery County coroner’s spokesman Ken Betz says 21-year-old Kordero Hunter, of South Holland, Ill., in suburban Chicago, died at a Dayton hospital early Friday of a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Police Sgt. Moises (MOH’-zez) Perez says Hunter and other CSU students at the club were innocent bystanders. Officials at the school in Wilberforce, in southwest Ohio, did not immediately return messages.

Perez says another male student shot in the neck was expected to be released from a hospital later Friday.

Perez says a man shot through the lounge’s window after an argument broke out in the club. Police believe they have identified the suspect in the shooting,
