LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police are investigating what appears to be a politically motivated attack on a newly opened campaign office for President Barack Obama.

Police Cmdr. Andrew Smith said Friday that several campaign staffers were in a room at the back of the office Thursday night when they heard the sound of smashing glass at the front and side of the building

They found three front door windows and a side door had been smashed.

Smith says detectives have yet to locate any surveillance footage, but it’s possible more than one person was involved. He says it’s likely they used a tire iron or similar object because no projectiles or bullets were found.

The office is in the Playa Vista area on the suburban west side.

Police notified the Secret Service.
