Duquesne routs St. Francis (Pa.) 41-14

LORETTO, Pa. (AP) — Sean Patterson threw four touchdowns and Duquesne routed St. Francis (Pa.) 41-14 on Saturday night in the Northeast Conference opener for both teams.

St. Francis (Pa.) led 7-6 after a 1-yard touchdown run by John Kelly with 3:27 to play in the first quarter. Duquesne (3-1) responded with 35 unanswered points to lead 41-6 after three quarters. Paterson finished with 290 yards passing and Connor Dixon caught four passes for 175 yards and two scores.

The Dukes have won 12 of the past 13 games in the series since joining the Football Championship Subdivision in 1993.

The Red Flash (1-3) were held to 183 total yards and Kyle Harbridge was limited to 76 yards rushing after piling up 364 yards on the ground — the most in the FCS since 2005 — last weekend. The Red Flash are allowing 46 points per game so far this season.
