Bidding Farewell to Friend, Colleague

Officer Jerry Lester of the La Center Police Department signed a guest book Saturday after a memorial service for La Center Police Officer Scott Reinecke at the Woodland High School gym. Reinecke died Sept. 10.

A longtime La Center police officer died in his Woodland home the evening of Sept. 10.

Scott Reinecke, 51, died of an unknown medical issue, La Center Police Chief Tim Hopkin said.

Reinecke started working for the La Center Police Department in 1998. He had been on leave since March for a few different surgeries, Hopkin said.

A memorial on Saturday honored Reinecke.
