Letter: Herrera Beutler listens to constituents

Published: September 25, 2011, 5:00pm

My thanks to Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, for trying to get people back to work by holding a jobs fair in Southwest Washington (on Sept. 28), as opposed to trying to grow jobs from a desk in Washington D.C. Her efforts to make it affordable for small businesses to provide health care and pursue American energy sources to encourage American jobs is the right approach for economic growth. Her focus to reduce burdensome and unnecessary government regulations, such as the costly “1099 mandate” that would have piled up IRS paperwork on small businesses, will also help business owners grow jobs.

Herrera Beutler’s ability to move beyond partisan rhetoric and bickering to obtain results is a testament to her willingness to listen to her constituents.
