LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — South Africa’s Gert Thys faces a second hearing before the top court in international sports for his positive doping test after his victory at the 2006 Seoul International Marathon.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport says it will hear an appeal by the World Anti-Doping Agency on Oct. 26.

Thys tested positive for the steroid norandrosterone after winning his third Seoul title. He denies doping.

After a long disciplinary process, South Africa’s track and field federation banned him for two years and seven months. However, the international court cleared Thys in 2009 because of lab errors in South Korea.

Switzerland’s supreme court agreed with South African officials that their rules did not allow CAS to judge the case. CAS says WADA intervened because the case stalled again in South Africa.
