MILWAUKEE (AP) — Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen has been scratched from the starting lineup after he was hit by a ball in the lower abdomen during batting practice.

McCutchen was in the field when he was hit by a line drive before Monday night’s game at Milwaukee. The Pirates say the injury doesn’t appear to be serious and the All-Star is day to day.

McCutchen was replaced in the lineup by Xavier Paul, who started in left field. Alex Presley took McCutchen’s normal position in center.

McCutchen hasn’t had much success against the Brewers, hitting .143 against them this season. McCutchen is hitting .262 with 23 homers and 89 RBIs in 156 games this season.
