SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A team from the Spokane County sheriff’s office, Washington State Patrol and Spokane police is investigating the fatal police shooting of a suicidal man in Spokane who was armed with a shotgun.
Police say the 45-year-old man had made suicidal threats Monday at his place of work. He took off when police arrived and rolled his van at an intersection in the city’s lower South Hill neighborhood. A SWAT team and negotiators responded.
Spokeswoman Jennifer DeRuwe told The Spokesman-Review (http://bit.ly/qFwvC4 ) officers fired because the man posed a risk to the community.
