Esther Short — The Children’s Justice Center received a donation of 41 quilts and scarves from a group of 200 women and girls from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Vancouver Washington West Stake Girls Camp 2011. The gifts were presented Aug. 25 at a Justice Center board meeting. “It’s so wonderful to see such generosity coming from our youth community, and these quilts will make a difference in comforting children who visit our center at a time of stress,” said Mary Blanchette, director of the center. The center provides a safe place for young victims of abuse and their non-offending family members.
