ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have put backup linebacker Isaiah Ekejiuba on injured reserve and signed cornerback Anthony Madison.

The team announced the moves Wednesday.

Ekejiuba, a key player on special teams, had a shoulder injury in Sunday’s win at Minnesota. He signed with the Lions last year after playing for the Oakland Raiders from 2005-2009.

Madison was added to fill in for Ekejiuba on special teams. Madison was among Detroit’s final cuts this year. He played in 16 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, his fifth in the NFL.

The Lions also signed receiver Owen Spencer to their practice squad and released receiver Tim Toone and tight end Cornelius Ingram from the practice team.
