Ore. flags at half-staff for slain soldier



SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Flags at all Oregon public institutions will be flown at half-staff on Friday in the memory of a soldier killed in Afghanistan.

Army Master Sgt. Danial Adams, a 35-year-old Hillboro man, was killed in Wardak, Afghanistan, on Sept. 13 from wounds suffered during an insurgent attack on his unit.

Adams was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group in Stuttgart, Germany.

Gov. John Kitzhaber ordered flags on Friday at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.
