A car slammed into a gas station in east Vancouver Thursday morning, causing damage to a car wash.

The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. at the Shell station at 16320 S.E. Cascade Park Drive, according to radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

Sandra McCallum, one of the owners of the station, said no one was hurt in the crash. She said the driver of the car was an “older lady” but that she is “doing just fine.”

Mark Kozlov of Vancouver was pumping gas at the station when he saw a four-door Honda take a sudden turn into the building, he said.

The car wash is shut down, owner McCallum said. She said they’ll have to get “all sorts of things checked out” before opening it again.

“It’s just a matter of cleaning everything up and checking for damage,” she said.
