ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have been trying to become a more potent offensive team for years, and they might finally have the first line to lead the push.

After acquiring Dany Heatley and Devin Setoguchi from the San Jose Sharks, the Wild have proven scorers to play next to center Mikko Koivu. Minnesota ranked 26th in the NHL last season in goals, with an average of only 2.48 per game.

New coach Mike Yeo was hired to make the Wild a more exciting team that’s more difficult to play against. The 37-year-old Yeo came from Minnesota’s minor league affiliate. He coached the Houston Aeros to the American Hockey League finals last season.
