Avik Bordak scored three goals and Jordan Tuttle scored twice, leading the Vancouver Victory to a 5-3 win over the West Sound Warriors on Friday at Bremerton in the Northern Pacific Hockey League opener for both teams.
Tuttle scored the game-winner with 5:11 remaining, a power-play goal with assists from Avik Bordak and Joe Bordak. Tuttle’s short-handed goal with 1:17 left in the game secured the victory.
Each team scored two first-period goals and one in the second. Special teams was a determining factor, as Vancouer scored on three of eight power plays, while killing off 15 short-handed situations and scoring the late short-handed goal.
The same two teams play again at 7:35 p.m. today in Bremerton.
