MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — It’s a high-profile showdown in the Big 12, and it has nothing to do with Oklahoma, Texas or Oklahoma State.

No. 15 Baylor visits Kansas State on Saturday in a matchup of two teams that are off to 3-0 starts, each with out-of-conference statement victories already to their credit. The Bears opened the season with a showcase win over TCU, and the Wildcats are coming off a win at Miami.

Baylor is led by Robert Griffin III, who has emerged as a legitimate Heisman Trophy candidate. He’s accounted for more touchdowns than incomplete passes through three games, completing better than 85 percent of his passes for close to 1,000 yards.

Kansas State counters with the nation’s sixth-best defense, which stuffed Miami four times at the goal line to preserve a 28-24 victory.
