Road No. 54 reopening in Gifford Pinchot National Forest

CHELATCHIE — Road No. 54 entering the Gifford Pinchot National Forest from the west will be open beginning Friday night.
A major slide and flood three years ago closed the road. It was reopened temporarily with emergency fixes two years ago.
Last month, permanent repairs were make including a large retaining wall, guardrail and repaving the road surface.
