When asked about the importance of Skyview’s resounding 61-6 victory of Lincoln of Portland on Friday night, Skyview coach Steven Kizer answer was surprising.
“It’s a big win since we’ve had trouble winning outside of Clark County,” he said.
And with Skyview traditionally scheduling tough non-league games, the results of those games aren’t hard to understand. Already this year, Skyview has played Sherwood, the reigning Class 5A champion, and Couer D’Alene of Idaho, another defending state champion.
But riding the 203 yards and 3 touchdowns of senior running back Parker Henry, the Skyview Storm ran over the undermanned Cardinals Friday night at Roosevelt High School in North Portland.
