AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — Rory McIlroy is ready to put his Masters meltdown behind him.

McIlroy can laugh about his Sunday collapse a year ago at Augusta National. While playing a practice round last week, he looked at the cabins to the left of the 10th fairway and joked about not realizing how close they were to the fairway — only 50 yards. McIlroy would know because that’s where his troubles began.

He hooked his tee shot behind the cabins on his way to an 80 in the last round, blowing a four-shot lead.

McIlroy won the U.S. Open two months later and now is one of the favorites this year. He says a year ago he came to the Masters hopeful of winning. The difference this year is that he wants to win.
