Edmonds police accuse garbage man of 6 burglaries

EDMONDS, Wash. (AP) -- Police say a man accused of six burglaries in Edmonds is a garbage truck driver who broke into homes along his route.
The 44-year-old Monroe man was arrested Monday at a home police were monitoring because it had been hit on Friday. The 97-year-old woman who lives there was not at home.
Police have recovered stolen jewelry, TVs, antiques and tools from the man's vehicle and home.
He was armed with a knife and pepper spray when he was arrested but did not resist.
The Daily Herald reports (http://is.gd/XoHWBA ) he told police he has been having financial problems and lost his home.
