BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- A fugitive from Oregon has been arrested in Connecticut after asking a police officer for help in a dispute with his landlord.

Bridgeport police told the Connecticut Post (http://bit.ly/HHVEBd) that 56-year-old Kenneth Robertson flagged down an officer on routine patrol Monday and asked for help in getting his belongings out of an apartment from which he had been evicted.

Police ended up charging Robertson with assault and disorderly conduct for allegedly beating his landlord. Officers later learned he was wanted in Clackamas County in Oregon on a warrant charging him with three felony assaults.

Oregon authorities say they will seek to extradite Robertson.

It wasn't immediately clear Wednesday if Robertson has a lawyer. He's being held on $101,000 bail.
