SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- Authorities in Marion County say a high school coach has been arrested on rape and sodomy charges resulting from a three-year relationship with a student.
Detectives say 41-year-old Scott Leonard Zeigler works at West Albany High School in a program for troubled students and as a coach for several teams
They said the relationship was with a student at Jefferson High School, where he was head coach of the girls basketball team from 2008 to 2010.
Zeigler was arrested Thursday and scheduled to appear in court Friday.
Detectives say the student told them the relationship began when she was 15 and ended in the summer of 2011. Detectives said they recovered cell phone texting evidence.
