DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Rockies recalled left-hander Drew Pomeranz and activated him for his start Sunday and optioned infielder-catcher Jordan Pacheco to Triple-A Colorado Springs to make room on their 25-man roster.
Because the Rockies did not need a fifth starter until Sunday, Pomeranz began the season at Double-A Tulsa. He pitched four scoreless innings Tuesday.
Pacheco went 2-for-10 with a triple and two RBIs in five games this season.
