CLEVELAND (AP) -- Browns coach Pat Shurmur says he's pleased with the large turnout of players on the first day of Cleveland's offseason workout program.
Shurmur was unable to conduct the "voluntary" program last year, his first with the Browns, because of the NFL lockout. Shurmur said quarterback Colt McCoy is attending and that he spoke with him Monday morning. Shurmur said he didn't feel the necessity to talk to McCoy about the team's failed attempt to move up in the NFL draft and select Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III.
Shurmur confirmed that linebacker Scott Fujita was in New York meeting with league officials in their continuing investigation of the New Orleans Saints bounty program. Fujita, who is on the NFLPA's executive committee, played for New Orleans from 2006-2009 and may face discipline.
