MONTLAKE TERRACE, Wash. (AP) -- Firefighters responding to a two-alarm blaze at a Mountlake Terrace, Wash., apartment building managed to rescue a man from a third-floor balcony as flames raced through a neighboring apartment.
Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokesperson Leslie Hynes said the man was unhurt Monday and was able to climb down a fire ladder on his own. Firefighters also rescued a large dog from the Taluswood Apartments.
No one was seriously hurt.
Hynes says the fire heavily damaged four apartments and at least eight others suffered water damage.
