OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell is well ahead of her Republican challenger in fundraising for her re-election bid.

According to filings this week with the Federal Election Commission, Cantwell raised $1.2 million during the first three months of the year compared to the $188,000 raised by state Sen. Michael Baumgartner of Spokane. Overall, Cantwell’s fundraising report shows she has $4.6 million in cash to spend, compared to Baumgartner’s $144,600.
