SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle police say the SWAT team was called out after a 14-year-old accused of threatening his mother with a knife refused to come out of his apartment.
Detective Mark Jamieson said the mother was able to get out of the apartment unhurt as initial officers responded to the Tuesday morning call. The teen refused to come out.
When coaxing didn’t work, the SWAT team and negotiators took over. Jamieson says the teen eventually surrendered.
He’s being held for investigation of domestic violence assault.
No injuries were reported.
