NEW YORK (AP) — Eye On Jacob, the 1-2 favorite, cruised to a 714-length victory over Inflation Target on Wednesday in the $67,000 allowance feature at Aqueduct.
The 6-year-old, making only his eighth career start, took charge turning for home and effortlessly opened a clear lead with John Velazquez aboard for trainer Todd Pletcher. The time was 1:49.57 for the 1 1/8 miles on the fast track.
Eye On Jacob paid $3.10, $2.30 and $2.10 for his second victory. Inflation Target returned $4.80 and $3.90 while Cinnamon Beach, the longest odds in the field at 34-1, paid $5.50 to show.
