SUNNYSIDE, Wash. (AP) — Police have arrested a man two days after a shooting in the Eastern Washington city of Sunnyside, southeast of Yakima.
Sunnyside Police and the Yakima County Sheriff’s office, working with the State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies, arrested Marcus Anthony Torres outside Sunnyside city limits on Thursday morning.
Officials say they were tipped off to his location during a different investigation.
No officers were injured in the shooting shortly after noon Tuesday.
Sunnyside officers had stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation when a firearm was pointed at them. They responded with gunfire.
