SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz will re-sign sharpshooter Blake Ahearn for the remainder of the season after his 10-day contract expires.

The 6-foot-2 guard has played sparingly in three games since being signed April 10. He has hit 1 of 5 from 3-point range and 1 of 6 overall, with two rebounds and an assist. With guards Earl Watson and Raja Bell still out with knee injuries, the Jazz need more depth with three games remaining in the regular season.

Entering Thursday, Utah owned the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoff race, and it controls its own destiny if it can win its three remaining games. The Jazz finish with home games against Orlando, Phoenix and Portland.

Ahearn was called up from the Reno Bighorns of the NBA’s D-League.
